About Innate Healthcare
No. You can book directly with us without a GP referral. Simply choose your treatment, pick a time that suits you, and we'll take care of the rest.
We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions including back pain, neck pain, headaches, shoulder problems, hip and knee pain, sciatica, sports injuries and more. If you're unsure whether we can help, get in touch and we'll let you know honestly.
Yes. Our chiropractors are registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC) and our physiotherapists are registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). Both are statutory regulators — registration is a legal requirement to practise in the UK.
We're based on Union Street in Oldham town centre. Evening and weekend appointments are available, so you don't need to take time off work.
Booking & What to Expect
Your first appointment includes a thorough consultation and assessment. We'll take a full health history, discuss your symptoms and goals, and carry out a physical examination. We'll then explain what we've found and outline a personalised treatment plan — including realistic timelines and expected outcomes.
Initial consultations are typically 45 minutes. Follow-up appointments are usually 30–45 minutes depending on the treatment. We'll always tell you what to expect before you book.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area being treated. For back or hip problems, shorts or leggings are ideal. We have gowns available if needed.
This depends on your condition and how long you've had it. At your first appointment we'll give you an honest estimate. We never oversell treatment — if you don't need to come back, we'll say so.
Yes — we’re open Monday–Friday until 7pm and Saturday mornings to fit around your life.
Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic treatment typically involves spinal and joint manipulation, mobilisation, soft tissue therapy and targeted exercises. The approach is hands-on and tailored to your specific problem. We always explain what we're doing and why before we start.
Yes — chiropractic is a regulated, evidence-based healthcare profession. Side effects are usually mild and temporary, such as some soreness after treatment, similar to how you might feel after exercise. We'll always discuss any risks relevant to your situation before treatment begins.
You might. That sound is simply gas being released from the joint — it's harmless and not an indication of anything being 'put back in'. If you'd prefer a technique that doesn't involve manipulation, just let us know — we have plenty of alternatives.
Physiotherapy
No. You can self-refer directly to our physiotherapy service. Many patients come to us without seeing their GP first.
No waiting lists, longer appointments, more continuity of care and a fully personalised treatment plan tailored to your goals.
Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing is ideal. Shorts are useful for lower limb conditions so your physiotherapist can assess the area freely.
Yes. Home exercises are a core part of your recovery and help you progress faster. We provide clear guidance and adjust your programme as you improve.
Acupuncture & Dry Needling
Dry needling uses the same fine needles as acupuncture but targets specific muscle trigger points to relieve pain and tension. It's based on western anatomy and sports medicine rather than traditional Chinese medicine. Both are effective — which one we use depends on your condition and preferences.
Most people feel very little during acupuncture. You may feel a brief dull ache or tingling sensation when the needle reaches the target area — this is normal and usually settles within seconds. The needles are extremely fine, far thinner than a hypodermic needle.
Pain, Recovery & Home Care
For most acute injuries (recent, within 48–72 hours), ice is better — 10–15 minutes wrapped in a cloth, a few times a day. For longer-standing or chronic pain, heat can help relax muscles and improve circulation. Your practitioner will advise you specifically after your treatment.
X-rays & Scans
No. In most cases we can diagnose and begin treatment without imaging. If we think a scan or X-ray would be helpful, we'll explain why and refer you appropriately. We won't recommend imaging unless it will genuinely change how we treat you.
Fees, Insurance & Payments
Chiropractic and physiotherapy appointments start from £55. Acupuncture and dry needling start from £50. Full pricing is listed on each service page. We're transparent about costs — there are no hidden fees.
We are working towards accepting major health insurance providers. Please contact us directly to check whether your policy is accepted. We can provide itemised receipts for self-funded patients to claim back from their insurer.
Cancellation Policy
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or rearrange. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee. We understand that emergencies happen — please contact us as soon as possible and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
