Dr Zuber Ahmed
Founder & Visionary · GP (Retired)
Dr Zuber Ahmed has been one of Oldham’s most dedicated medical figures for over three decades. Graduating from the University of Nottingham in 1988, he trained as a GP under two of the area’s most respected practitioners at Saddleworth Medical Practice before building a career defined by service to this community.
As Chair of the Professional Executive Committee at Oldham PCT from 2004 to 2009, he became a passionate advocate for bringing complementary therapies — including chiropractic and osteopathy — into mainstream patient care. It was this conviction that gave birth to the clinic that would eventually become Innate Healthcare. He also served on the board of Christie’s Hospital in Manchester, and from 2007 led Sunvalley Medical Practice at Glodwick Healthcare Centre — one of Oldham’s most prominent GP practices.
Throughout it all, Dr Ahmed was more than a professional mentor to his nephews — he was a guiding presence in their lives, shaping not just their careers but their values. It was Dr Ahmed who recognised in Dr Mohammed Ashraf a natural affinity for hands-on care, introducing him to renowned local chiropractor Dr Adam Wilkey and setting him on the path that would define his career. And it was Dr Ahmed’s example of community service that inspired Dr Abdul Rehman to follow him into medicine.
In late 2025, Dr Ahmed retired — leaving behind a legacy measured not in titles or positions, but in the thousands of patients who received better care because of his work, and in the clinic that now carries his vision forward.
