Governance
Zero Tolerance Policy
We are committed to providing a safe environment for our patients, staff, and visitors. Aggressive, abusive or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated in any form.
Our commitment
Innate Healthcare Ltd is committed to providing a working environment that is safe and respectful for all — patients, staff, contractors, and visitors alike. We take a zero-tolerance approach to any behaviour that compromises this.
What constitutes unacceptable behaviour?
The following behaviours are not acceptable at Innate Healthcare:
- Physical violence or threats of violence towards any person on the premises
- Verbal abuse, shouting, swearing, or deliberately offensive language
- Racial, sexual, disability or other discriminatory abuse
- Intimidation, bullying or harassment (including via phone or email)
- Damage to clinic property
- Theft
- Behaviour under the influence of alcohol or non-prescribed drugs that is disruptive to others
- Making malicious or vexatious complaints
This list is not exhaustive. The clinic manager will use professional judgement in deciding whether behaviour falls within this policy.
Our response
If unacceptable behaviour occurs:
- Staff will calmly but firmly ask the individual to stop
- If the behaviour continues, the individual will be asked to leave the premises
- In serious cases, or where there is an immediate risk of harm, we will contact the police (999 or 101)
- We reserve the right to discharge a patient from our care if they engage in persistent unacceptable behaviour
- We will record incidents in writing and report to the CQC where required
Staff protection
Innate Healthcare takes the safety of its staff seriously. All incidents are recorded. We will support any member of staff who suffers abuse in the course of their duties, including pursuing civil or criminal action where appropriate.
Exceptions
We recognise that some behaviour may be caused by a person's medical condition or disability. In such cases we will take a compassionate approach, making reasonable adjustments where possible, while still protecting the safety of all present.
Contact
If you have a concern about the safety of the clinic environment, please speak with the clinic manager or contact us at hello@innatehealthcare.co.uk.
