Equality & Diversity Statement

Innate Healthcare is committed to treating every patient and member of staff with equal dignity and respect, regardless of any protected characteristic. This statement sets out our responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010.

Last updated: 1 May 2026

Our commitment

Innate Healthcare Ltd is committed to equality and diversity in everything we do — in the care we provide, the staff we employ, and the environment we create. We believe that everyone deserves the same high standard of care.

The Equality Act 2010

The Equality Act 2010 protects people from discrimination based on the following nine protected characteristics:

  • Age
  • Disability
  • Gender reassignment
  • Marriage and civil partnership
  • Pregnancy and maternity
  • Race (including colour, nationality, and ethnic or national origin)
  • Religion or belief
  • Sex
  • Sexual orientation

We will not discriminate against any patient, visitor or member of staff on the basis of any protected characteristic. This applies to direct discrimination, indirect discrimination, harassment and victimisation.

Reasonable adjustments

We will make reasonable adjustments to ensure that disabled patients and staff are not put at a substantial disadvantage. This includes:

  • Physical access adjustments where operationally feasible
  • Providing information in alternative formats (large print, audio) on request
  • Allowing extra appointment time where clinically appropriate
  • Ensuring staff communicate clearly with patients who have sensory or communication differences

Please contact us in advance if you need an adjustment so we can prepare appropriately.

Applying this statement

This statement applies to:

  • Patient care and treatment decisions
  • Appointment allocation and waiting times
  • Staff recruitment, development and promotion
  • Procurement and supplier selection
  • Communications and marketing materials

Responsibilities

The Clinical Director (Dr Mohammed Ashraf) has overall responsibility for equality and diversity at Innate Healthcare. All staff are individually responsible for upholding this policy in their day-to-day work.

Monitoring

We monitor equality data across patient registrations and staff demographics to identify and address any disparities. Monitoring data is reviewed at our annual governance review. We are committed to continuous improvement.

Training

All staff receive equality and diversity awareness training as part of their induction. This is refreshed every two years. Clinical staff receive additional training on cultural competence and disability awareness.

Raising a concern

If you feel you have been discriminated against or treated unfairly, please raise a concern using our Patient Complaints & Feedback Procedure, or contact us directly at hello@innatehealthcare.co.uk.
